Public bug reported:
In an Asus G1 notebook with nvidia Go 7700, to switch to external monitors one
need the asus-laptop module instead of the default asus_acpi. Once it's
running, an echo 8 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-laptop/display switches to DVI
port and echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-laptop/display switches back to
the LCD. The asus-laptop module documentation shows all the possible
combinations.
Up to Gutsy this procedure worked nicelly, after update to Hardy Alpha 2
(kernel 2.6.24-3-generic) it stopped working.
I wasn't able to find any logs that might explain what's happening. The nvidia
driver works fine as I can switch using nvidia-settings.
