Public bug reported:

I just upgraded my Lubuntu 20.04 to 24.04 in two steps using do-release-
upgrade.

Now when I logon I get a message box centre screen saying:

Notification Daemon crashed too many times. Its autorestart has been
disabled until the next login.

I believe this may be a problem with lxqt-notificationd, but it could
also be related to DBus configuration issues as I found that
/usr/share/dbus-1/services contains:

org.xfce.FileManager.service
org.xfce.Thunar.FileManager1.service
org.xfce.Thunar.service
org.xfce.Tumbler.Cache1.service
org.xfce.Tumbler.Manager1.service
org.xfce.Tumbler.Thumbnailer1.service
org.xfce.xfce4-notifyd.Notifications.service
org.xfce.xfce4-notifyd.Notifyd.service
org.xfce.Xfconf.service

which might be relevant as (AFAIK) I am not using xfce?

I've tried to find diagnostic data but found nothing in the system
journal.
