In Launchpad, we are thinking of implementing a warning system for the LF line-breaks in HTTP requests that cause the bug, for the medium-term, while still making them succeed (until the real fix can be implemented in as many apport versions as possible). This should hopefully be sufficient to test whether the request creation has been changed successfully.
