Public bug reported:
The way in which I discovered this bug was while attempting to redirect
stderr of a running process. Below is a simple way to reproduce the
issue.
$ ./long-running-process
>>> Open a new shell.
$ pgrep -fai long-running
15123 ./long-running-process
$ gdb -p 15123
...
(gdb) compile code -- printf("Hello, world!\n");
cc1: fatal error: libcc1plugin: unknown version in handshake
compilation terminated.
Compilation failed.
(gdb)
In short, after a recent update, I am no longer able to use the compile
code command of gdb. This sequence of commands should print the text
"Hello, world!" instead of printing an error.
