Public bug reported:
I'm getting the following when using snap (any command, including just snap):
snap: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
I get this only after trying to install a package (hello-world) with
snap; immediately after purging and installing snapd, I do not have this
issue. However, after snap install hello-world, snap seems broken in
this way.
I would expect that "sudo apt-get purge snapd; sudo apt-get install
snapd; snap install hello-world" should not break.
Some details collected running some suggested commands from the
internet:
1. sudo apt-get purge snapd
2. sudo apt-get install snapd
3. snap version
output:
snap 2.66.1+24.04
snapd 2.66.1+24.04
series 16
ubuntu 24.04
kernel 6.8.0-53-generic
4. snap list
output:
No snaps are installed yet. Try 'snap install hello-world'.
