Public bug reported: Casper does not unmount the source of the iso-file correctly if booted with "toram" kernel commandline option.
If the installer iso is booted from "harddisk", e.g. "Recovery"-Partition this behavior prohibits deployment of a new clean Partitiontable. This might lead to residues of malicious software on the "harddisk". 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu Bug was experienced on: - Description: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS Release: 22.04 - Description: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS Release: 24.04 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center Every Version of Casper since at least 2010 3) What you expected to happen Bugfix from 2010 is applied https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/684280 or implement a second "toram" option like "toramunmounted" or "toramclean" 4) What happened instead Bug was assigned to nobody ** Affects: casper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2100503 Title: Casper wrong unmount when "toram" option is used To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/2100503/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
