** Description changed: As described in LP: #2096755, the mediawiki version available in plucky (1.39) does not support PHP 8.4, whereas the current LTS version (1.43) does support it. Although there is a patch to fix autopkgtests proposed in LP: #2096755, the patch author stepped back on submitting the patch: it does not come from upstream: it is a backport attempt of fixes available in 1.43, but too much has changed since then and we may end up with a broken package anyway. Let's go ahead and move to 1.43 or remove mediawiki from plucky. Note that there are substantial changes for this new version of mediawiki. Having a working package plus the fact that the only reverse dependencies for the package are plugins to the same, should suffice to justify the version bump. If otherwise, this is unacceptable, then I will proceed to file removal requests for mediawiki and its plugins in plucky. The upstream changelogs and release notes are attached in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mediawiki/+bug/2100500/comments/1. The package was built and tested in the following PPA: https://launchpad.net/~athos-ribeiro/+archive/ubuntu/mediawiki/+packages - The build logs are attached in TBD + The build logs are attached in + https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mediawiki/+bug/2100500/comments/2 The install logs are attached in TBD The package DEP8 tests ran against the PPA linked above. The results for amd64 are attached in TBD. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2100500 Title: [FFe] new mediawiki version for PHP 8.4 compatibility To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mediawiki/+bug/2100500/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
