I found something interesting today whilst trying to sort out another bug report I filed about the M5000M graphics card not being initialized correctly....
In 22.04 if I use the Nvidia driver (550), my laptop shuts down after logging in with the lid shut (2 out of 3 attempts). If I use the X.Org video driver (noveau) I never have shutdown issues logging in with 22.04. With 24.04 however, the X.Org video driver does not initialize the M5000M graphics adapter correctly. The Nvidia 550 driver did get the M5000M working correctly but I was still having this logging in shutdown issue with the lid shut. I think this may be indicating some sort of timing issue during the start up phase? ** Summary changed: - 24.04.1 Suspends\Hibernates after desktop login using ext keyboard\monitor + 22.04 & 24.04.1 Suspend\Hibernate after desktop login using ext keyboard\monitor -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2098370 Title: 22.04 & 24.04.1 Suspend\Hibernate after desktop login using ext keyboard\monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2098370/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
