Same issue here I have some servers which have pretty heavy audit requirements. These have been running on 20.04 for quite some time. Rebuilding at 24.04, with the same audit configurations lead to growth in kernel memory use, with busy hosts becoming unusable within a few days (no memory left).
We trigger this in our lab environment by ensuring we have pretty aggressive audit rules, simulate activity that triggers events. Then artificially setting rate limit to "1" (to make it easier to trigger) We have configuration to set kernel backlog size, and to drop events if thats exceeded (so, should drop if overloaded). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2098730 Title: Kernel 6.8.0 memory leak To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2098730/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
