Thanks, Thomas, I've sponsored the upload. But as discussed, the long term 
right thing to do is:
add awk as a build/test dependency in Debian, let that trigger the bug, mark it 
as flaky, upload to Debian, and then sync it to Ubuntu.

but to cut that short for now, I've sponsored the upload so that we
don't miss shipping flycheck and emacs in plucky.
