G-I-S has: <object class="GtkImage" id="logo"> <property name="icon_name">start-here-symbolic</property> </object>
but then at runtime replaces the icon name with `distributor-logo`, so `start-here-symbolic` is not actually used. In plucky ubuntu-desktop is not seeding Humanity anymore, which used to provide the `distributor-logo` icon as a fallback from Yaru, which does not have it. `distributor-logo` is not part of the FDO Icon Naming spec, so now we have to decide whether we want our default theme to still provide it for backwards compatibility, or if g-i-s should ship it under /usr/share/icons/hicolor itself. That depends on whether there are other software components in Ubuntu that expect a `distributor-logo` icon to be available. The alternative solution is for G-I-S to use a different, standard, icon name. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2103423 Title: start-here-symbolic.svg not rendering in plucky To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-initial-setup/+bug/2103423/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
