Public bug reported:

CD Live, Hardy shutdown doesn't. It hangs just after the enter to
remove CD message. No action on the keyboard or mouse elicits any
response. A hardware reset is required, just hoping that the system is
really stopped and no hard drive code will be damaged.

Leann Ogasawara requested on Gutsy bug #119308 that I test Hardy for a similar
problem.
This is from the latest Hardy CD LiveI could find, daily build 20080109, which
should be Alpha 1 plus. Alpha 2 is apparently not ready yet even though it is
the scheduled day - likely they're working on some bugs.

This system shuts down fine with Dapper and Edgy, however in mid
February Feisty didn't shut down (about the same time a bunch of code
was put in from Debian).

Attached will be dmidecode which gives a summary of the Bios and
motherboard, uname -a, /proc/version_signature, dmesg, and lspci -vvnn.

Do note that bug #119308 has a workaround for installed systems. I'll
try it when Alpha 2 is out.

Let me know if I can provide anything else, or test anything.

Jerry
