Public bug reported: [Impact]
Qualcomm's graphic driver does not work because necessary firmware files are missing in Ubuntu's linux-firmware package. An example error: [ 200.275893] adreno 3d00000.gpu: [drm:adreno_zap_shader_load [msm]] *ERROR* Unable to load qcom/qcs6490/a660_zap.mbn [Fix] Import necessary firmware files from the upstream linux-firmware project. [Test Case] Install Ubuntu on the Qualcomm boards such as RB3G2, RB8, boards. Run a simple rendoring program such as 'kmscube'. [Where problems could occur] When we support the graphics driver (drivers/gpu/drm/msm/) for Qualcomm IoT platforms (https://ubuntu.com/download/qualcomm-iot). ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Masahiro Yamada (myamada) Status: New ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: High Assignee: Masahiro Yamada (myamada) Status: New ** Changed in: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2105425 Title: Support GPU driver on Qualcomm IoT platforms To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/2105425/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
