@Alex Hofmann I was searching the web for my bug, which was exactly the same, and found your comment. I removed hplip + hplip-gui, commented the file `/etc/sane.d/dll.d/hplip` and rebooted. Now I can use simple-scan without being required to enter my password.
My Ubuntu is the vesion 24.10. I just reinstalled both hplip and hplip-gui, and will observe the simple-scan behavior after next time I reboot, just in case editing the `/etc/sane.d/dll.d/hplip` file would not be enough. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926014 Title: simple-scan is trying to start disabled avahi-daemon.service To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/policykit-1/+bug/1926014/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
