The point of this package is that you can use a browser to manage your
GNOME Shell extensions. Therefore, you don't need an app for that.
Edubuntu is the only Ubuntu Desktop Flavor to include gnome-browser-
connector in the default install. Edubuntu already includes gnome-shell-
extension-manager which provides the same functionality as gnome-shell-
extension-prefs (plus extra features).
If gnome-browser-connector removes its Recommends: gnome-shell-
extension-prefs, then Edubuntu can ship a single app for managing
installed extensions instead of 2 apps with overlapping functionality.
