Thanks Simon! I still think there's something that needs to be changed here. If Ubuntu / Kubuntu does not support encrypted /boot partitions, the installer should not *strongly suggest* encrypting the /boot partition. ;)
There is even a setting for calamares in partition.conf: # Show not encrypted boot partition warning. # # When set to false, this option does not show the # "Boot partition not encrypted" warning when encrypting the # root partition but not /boot partition. # # If nothing is specified, the warning is shown. #showNotEncryptedBootMessage: true -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2105924 Title: Kubuntu 25.04 beta: Installing with an encrypted root filesystem results in a non-booting system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/2105924/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
