Well the problem is, that the live DVD acquires the one MB free space left after the Windows Recovery partition on the notebook as temporary file space and mounts the preformatted swap partitions on both internal hard drives seperately because kubuntu does not recognize the dmraid out of the box. Thus starting the live DVD system breaks the mirror and therefore dmraid does not mount the mirror devices under /dev/mapper.
Consecutively, installing dmraid without having installed to a intact RAID, i. e. to partitions on /dev/mapper/jmicron_RAID... fails to create an intact "initramfs" system. Now I have grub installed, mirrored disks with kubuntu installed on a mirrored RAID partition, but no initramfs which could mount the root partition. Bad luck. I'll wait for a later release of ubuntu/kubuntu which hopefully fulfills the wish list for dmraid support.
