I have a similar situation, when a bluetooth dongle is plugged into the
hub in my monitor, a headset paired with it cannot be used for audio (no
sound). Here is an lsusb with the dongle is plugged in to the hub:

% lsusb
Bus 005 Device 008: ID 0a5c:2101 Broadcom Corp.
Bus 005 Device 007: ID 04b4:6560 Cypress Semiconductor Corp. CY7C65640 USB-2.0
"TetraHub"
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 003: ID 0430:0005 Sun Microsystems, Inc. Type 6 Keyboard
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 046d:c402 Logitech, Inc. Marble Mouse (2-button)
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 058f:9360 Alcor Micro Corp.

If I plug the dongle into the pc directly and then pair the headset, the
sound works as one would expect:

Using a webcam through the hub fails similarly, yet using storage
devices works fine.
