Thanks for testing with network-manager! I feel better about not including the Breaks:, as I think many people do use network-manager- openvpn (I do on my laptops).
> New patch removing the breaks rule for network-manager-openvpn A few minor requests: 1. It looks like the security team has updated openvpn in noble to 2.6.12-0ubuntu0.24.04.3, can you use that for the backport please? 2. In the (latest) changelog entry (i.e. the backport changelog entry), can you remove all the LP: bug references except for this bug (LP: #2097688)? 3. When you generate the new source package to upload, please make sure not to include changelog info from more than the backport changelog entry; meaning, please don't use the -v<VERSION> parameter to dpkg-buildpackage (or dpkg-genchanges). If you include more changelog entries that the backport entry, it will include any previous fixed LP bugs in the changes. For example, the current upload in the queue is here: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/785683201/openvpn_2.6.12-0ubuntu0.24.04.1~bpo22.04.1_source.changes And you can see it has this info: Closes: 976070 1011372 1012129 1014376 1016057 1017379 1033179 1054083 1055805 1060500 1064399 Launchpad-Bugs-Fixed: 1975574 2018095 2073318 2077769 2091575 2097688 and it contains multiple old changelog entries, instead of just a single entry explaining the backport. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2097688 Title: [BPO] openvpn/2.6.12 from Noble to Jammy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvpn/+bug/2097688/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
