Hi. I have also noticed this bug myself. I suspect that the App Center switched to the snap version has something to do with it. However, I was not able to fully test this, because the deb version is no longer fully supported in newer Ubuntu versions. I installed the "gnome-software" and "gnome-software-plugin-snap" deb packages into a virtual machine with Ubuntu 24.04.2. In this case, running Software Updater also didn't check for snap updates.
If Software Updater also would update snaps, it would fix the long auto- update delay for some snap applications on computers that are rarely powered on. Then the snap applications would update at least once a week, or on the first startup if computers are used even less frequently. I followed this long auto-update delay for Firefox and Thunderbird in this bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/2088644 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2097700 Title: Software Updater fails to update snaps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/2097700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
