ubuntu-desktop recommends libpam-sss.  libpam-sss depends on sssd which depends 
on sssd-common.
sssd-common provides sssd-nss.socket, which fails to start as above.

If the package should be required, but is not useful until manually
configured, wouldn't it make sense to leave the service disabled until
someone configures it?  That would avoid the confusing warning.

I presume the same argument can be made about all 4 failing services.
