This affects me as well. I find I can open a terminal and start flameshot gui, and it will work fine. If I open the app from the Wayland GUI, it opens fine but I get a window that says Flameshot Error and on the next line it says "Unable to capture screen". I suspect it has to do with the permissions needed in Wayland, as it works fine in X11. I use the PrintScreen key for screenshots. I made a script flameshot-script.sh with the command in it, and it works from the terminal, but setting up a shortcut key fails using it.
