As also mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/2090610: Well, I am using snap since it was introduced for thunderbird forcefully as wrapper with apt in Ubuntu and this feels for me like ages ago. Not sure which bug report is being tracked now.
