Public bug reported:
The Bluetooth adapter on my Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 4 is not detected in
Ubuntu 24.04. The Wi-Fi on the same MediaTek MT7921 card works
perfectly.
The core issue is that the kernel does not create the
/sys/class/bluetooth directory, which causes the bluetooth.service to be
skipped with the condition
ConditionPathIsDirectory=/sys/class/bluetooth.
Troubleshooting Steps Performed:
Confirmed no hardware/software blocks with rfkill.
System is fully updated as of (add today's date).
There is no Windows dual boot, so "Fast Startup" is not a factor.
Manually installed the latest firmware from linux-firmware.git and rebooted.
The dmesg log shows the mt7921e driver loading for Wi-Fi, but there are no
errors or initialization attempts for the Bluetooth component.
