Would it matter if it's an LXC as it shares the same kernel as the host?

I just did the same steps again on a brand new VM with a fresh 25.04
image downloaded just now and have the same issue. Although I did run
into something I didn't think to test:

I edited and saved the text file using vscodium on my host, no issues.
Loaded, edited again, saved, no issues.

I used 'xed', edited and saved. 'Corrupted' and the crash happens.

Why would the choice of text editor on my host crash the samba service
on my server?
