** Description changed:

  has been trying to get xrdp to work but cannot.  not sure if it is the
  sole reason why xrdp is not working
  
  setup:
  VM with SPICE/QXL, Ubuntu Budgie 24.04.2 LTS fresh install;  tried Ubuntu 
Kylin as well, same problem, so likely it could affect other desktop flavors
  
  steps:
  install Ubuntu interactively
  reboot
  login to console, sudo apt-get install xrdp xorgxrdp
  reboot
  try to login from Windows 11 RDC
