For those frustrated by Ubuntu's unfixed bugs, one option may be to use Debian's stable or testing releases. Ubuntu is based on Debian so for the most part package management and system configuration is the same. The main difference is the Ubuntu PPAs won't work well with a Debian installation.
Debian stable provides long term support for packages similar to Ubuntu's LTS releases. https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/ Debian testing is a good option for those who want reasonable stability, but also want more recent versions of applications than found in the stable release. https://www.debian.org/releases/testing/ The bug reported here is specific to Ubuntu 24.04 noble, so another workaround is to upgrade to a more recent non-LTS release such as 25.04 plucky. Of course next year 26.04 LTS will be released, and you'd want to upgrade your Ubuntu system to it once it is available. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2072338 Title: incorrect PMI configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mpich/+bug/2072338/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
