The command:
sudo systemctl --user --global disable 
snap.snapd-desktop-integration.snapd-desktop-integration.service

didn't seem to work for me. After running this command I hit the problem again. 
But I found when I ran:
systemctl --user status 
snap.snapd-desktop-integration.snapd-desktop-integration.service

the service was loaded and running. So instead I have ran:
systemctl --user disable 
snap.snapd-desktop-integration.snapd-desktop-integration.service

And since then I haven't had the issue again. But it can be
intermittent, so I'm not 100% if this fixes it, but it looks good so
far.
