Hello! So I took a deeper look into the 2 packages and similar considerations
apply, I was tricked in my research by multiple hints to a ros-based system
such as the package.xml and the installation instructions.
Some examples
https://github.com/orocos/orocos_kinematics_dynamics/blob/master/orocos_kdl/package.xml
 and https://orocos.org/wiki/Installation_Manual.html

Same question as in the other bug report:
From what you write it seems maintainers eventually decided to get away from
ROS, is that the case even if package.xml keeps being there and updated?

One more point: upstream github
https://github.com/orocos/orocos_kinematics_dynamics/commit/05b1676b75494d7cd6f3b66d26ac4e09d4ba6485
tagged the package.xml at 1.5.2 some months ago without releasing and
debian seems to be stuck at 1.5.1 from 2021.

If you are in touch with the maintainers maybe you can try to push for
some updates before Ubuntu 26.04 is out?
