Upstream PR#2792 seems rather big, not sure if it is feasible to be backported
into Ubuntu.
Ideally, we would resolve this by merging upstream v2.8.3, which will happen at
some point anyway. But Debian is in freeze currently, so we'd need to move
ahead of Debian to get this new upstream version.
