In Debian, d/changelog entries since the latest Ubuntu version has
several entries mentioning autopkgtest test fixes. I build the Debian
version as-is on question and has a local autopkgtest run in a questing
VM. Result:

autopkgtest [17:52:58]: test command1: clitest --pre-flight 'export LC_ALL=C'
debian/tests/clitest.md
autopkgtest [17:52:58]: test command1: [-----------------------
