Ubuntu 24.10 has libgit2 1.7.2+ds-1ubuntu3 and Ubuntu 25.04 has 1.9.0+ds-1ubuntu1. The latest upstream release is 1.9.1 which seems to be affected as well. So I suggest to get that regression addressed upstream first and then backport the fix to Ubuntu. You opened https://github.com/libgit2/libgit2/issues/7090 upstream.
