Questing has been fixed in 2:7.4-1, which has now reached the release
pocket.

For focal, jammy, noble, oracular and plucky, the changes have been
committed and the new packages are currently sitting in -security-
proposed:

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security-
proposed/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages?field.name_filter=cifs-
utils&field.status_filter=published&field.series_filter=

I'm going to spend the verifying these all work as expected, and we can
try go for a release tonight if I get them all done today.
