One proposed systemd change is to drop -Dgroup-render-mode=0660, reverting back
to upstream's default of 666:

The effect of the change is to grant system-wide access to GPU resources (but
not directly to the screens).
An alternative proposed systemd change is to make logind apply these
ACLs to headless sessions too.
