Tested builds on all available oem/generic kernels from N/O/P/Q. So
far ~127 ones.
Tested builds on all available mainline kernels since v4.14, exclusive
of v4.14.10 per comment #13.
Tested runs on oem-6.8, oem-6.11, and oem-6.14.
V4:
1. addressed compatibility problems found in comment #9, #10, #11,
#12. Commnet #13 is out of the scope.
2. Add source tarball generation along with helper script as suggested
in comment #15.
