Thank you for reporting this issue and helping to improve Ubuntu!
I can confirm in an lxc Ubuntu 25.04 container that our .NET 9.0.6
runtime uses a larger maximum resident set size for an hello world
application compared to Microsoft's build of the .NET 9.0.6 runtime.
Although I see much smaller differences than bug reporter. I see at most
a difference of 2 MB (rounded up).
My initial thoughts are that this is most likely due to our compiler
flags being different than the configuration Microsoft uses for their
builds. This needs further investigation.
