I could not disable the CDROM completely via the BIOS, but I could exclude it from the 'Primary Boot Sequence'. It did not help, the Lenovo C30 failed to boot in the same way (with the same error output to the screen) both in UEFI mode and BIOS mode alias legacy mode.
