It would be useful to have a common data format for issue reports.
Currently Apport uses a DEB822 problem report format. systemd-coredump
stores its report in the journal.
My idea is to have a common data format for issue reports that can be
used across distributions and bug tracker platforms.
Ideas for the data format:
* FlatBuffers
* Concise Binary Object Representation (CBOR)
Discarded formats:
* DEB822: it's only used in Debian land
* JSON: There is no need for a text format. User can use a tool to format the
binary format
* MessagePack: CBOR seems to be better
* Protocol Buffers: FlatBuffers supports random access reads
Whats your opinion on that idea?
