WOW, what actually DID work (Perplexity LLM suggested it), is simply
running > sudo apt install nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver <, this took a
Debian "meta-package" apparently, and now my system runs at native
screen resolution (1080p) finally! :) Could we include this "meta-
package" into Ubuntu's "proprietary device drivers (restricted)" list
for Nvidia 9000 series GPUs (considering legal things, I mean)? And why
does the duplicate bug not state any reason for why Ubuntu stopped
supporting Nvidia 9000 series GPUs at all? Were the Ubuntu devs possibly
simply unaware that Debian devs apparently keep supporting older Nvidia
GPUs aswell? (As Nvidia also still supports super old GPUs for Windows
10 for example)
