/bin/zcmp is actually a sheel script :
#!/bin/bash
PATH=${GZIP_BINDIR-'/usr/bin'}:$PATH
exec zdiff --__cmp "$@"
and executing
zcmp
results in following output :
/bin/zdiff: invalid number of operands; try `/bin/zdiff --help' for help
--
zcmp keeps running in a endless loop
