It seems the internal storage is somehow corrupted (see 
/var/log/mysql/error.log), since creating a new "undo tablespace" failed during 
startup since the "undo_001"/"undo_002" tablespace was already there.
After the failed attempt, mysql reports to listen for connections, though.

Is your mysql runnning successfully now?

If so, by deleting/recreating the undo tablespace and directories you
may get rid of the problem.

Also, what did you use the database for, and did you do any
configuration within the database itself? (ideally regarding the undo
tablespaces)
