Many thanks,
this solved my problem (I used the driver you indicated and removed I was
using - which was referenced by the supplier of the device bytheway).
The laptop still does not work with this kernel using the built-in Realtek
module, but I will replace that Realtek module somewhere in the coming
weeks.
