Hi Thomas, first of all you are now at the proposed version (for 25.04) that should be tested. It's the 2.37.0-0ubuntu2.1, that needs to have the needed commit(s), backported (actually cherry-picked) from 2.38.0. (We are not allowed to bump the entire package in 24.04 to 2.38.0 due to the SRU policy.)
However, your comments make me circling back to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/s390-tools/+bug/2103414/comments/16 where I wrote that the only commit that we were requested to add was the one mentioned here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/s390-tools/+bug/2103414/comments/2 so only b3db52fd165e. Well, but based on your recent comments (and tests), there is not only: b3db52fd165e6a26d9c73e51bd5322b55017ef94 ("libutil: Add machine type definition for machines 9175 and 9176") but also: 120ad30f1ee9e0aff21cacb07570f1acc9e0c61b ("cpumf/lscpumf: Add support for IBM z17 counter sets") needed? Can you confirm that these two are all the commits that are needed? We unfortunately now need to mark this SRU first of all as verification- failed and restart it :-/ I've now created an updated package, but in this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~fheimes/+archive/ubuntu/lp2103414+lp2078347+lp2044104-2nd Would you please give it a try from this PPA, before I do another upload?
