Public bug reported:

Linux opal 6.14.0-27-generic #27~24.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue
Jul 22 17:38:49 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

No LSB modules are available.
Description: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Release: 24.04

(1) I created / enabled a swap partition

swapon -s
Filename Type Size Used
Priority
/dev/nvme0n1p6 partition 20971516 0
-2

(2) I have a single monitor, connected to a usb 4 port, in DP Alt Mode

for p in /sys/class/drm/*/status; do con=${p%/status}; echo -n
"${con#*/card?-}: "; cat $p; done
DP-1: disconnected
DP-2: connected
...

(3) I hibernate the system

sudo systemctl hibernate

The system hibernates and powers down

(4) I power the system on

The DP Alt mode monitor loses signal and enters sleep mode ( same when
subsequently unplugging and re-plugging it)

(5) I plug in an HDMI monitor, I can login and the system has resumed exactly
from when it was hibernated, except for the change in monitor

The usb DP Alt mode monitor *cannot* be connected, despite attempts to
re-plug it (remove usb plug and re-insert it).

for p in /sys/class/drm/*/status; do con=${p%/status}; echo -n
"${con#*/card?-}: "; cat $p; done
DP-1: disconnected
DP-2: disconnected
DP-3: disconnected
DP-4: disconnected
DP-5: disconnected
DP-6: disconnected
DP-7: disconnected
HDMI-A-1: connected

This is a bit perplexing

If I power down without hibernating and power back on, the system will
use the usb DP Alt mode monitor fine

Thanks
