Hi everyone,

This is a part of the s2025.07.14 security SRU cycle, so these kernels aren't
placed in regular -proposed, as the normal 2025.07.14 kernels are still in
-proposed. Security SRU cycle kernels are placed in the Kernel Team PPA#2
instead.

https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-
team/+archive/ubuntu/proposed2/+packages?field.name_filter=linux&field.series_filter=jammy

See? 5.15.0-153-generic is in there.

If you want to help test it, you can do:

Instructions to Install (On a jammy system):
1) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:canonical-kernel-team/proposed2
2) sudo apt update
3) sudo apt install
linux-{image,modules,modules-extra,headers}-5.15.0-153-generic
4) sudo reboot
5) uname -rv
5.15.0-153-generic #163-Ubuntu SMP Thu Aug 7 16:37:18 UTC 2025

Let us know if it solves the issue, and we can mark the bug as verified.

If we have a look at https://kernel.ubuntu.com/, we see that s2025.07.14 is
due to release to -updates the week of 25th of August.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Matthew
