Public bug reported:
- on ubuntu 24.04 using gdm
- also have kubuntu-desktop installed from apt
- on gdm login screen select plasma as desktop environment
- insert smart card and enter username (active directory)
- prompt for pin appears and after logging in the "plasma desktop" selection is
not honored and i am back on gnome
note: changing desktop environment works fine with w/ a local username
and password, but i notice the desktop environment selection is
available still at the password screen whereas with the smart card login
that icon disappears.
