Public bug reported:
Write IOPS and Latency performance issue observed after upgraded our
Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy kernel from 6.5.0-27 to 6.8.0.40
- vdbench tool used to measure the performance
- Read workloads have improved across threads(1 to 128) and block size(4K to
512K)
- It’s the write IO latency which has affected the most after kernel upgrade.
- Write response and IOPS drop is seen from Kernel 6.8.0.40
- Write response and IOPS dropped especially with rw_8k, rw_32k and wo_128k
workloads (please check the attachment for detailed numbers)
- We have compared the results with latest Jammy kernel 6.8.0-60-generic and
this also shows the write perf issue.
