Public bug reported: There is a severe bug in Qt affecting KDE's lockscreen, that causes a heavy busy loop: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484323
Just recently, the root cause was found in Qt: https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtbase/+/663811 This will apparently not be backported to the (public) 6.8 branch, thus would be addressed earliest with 6.9. The issue caused by this bug can be fairly severe, if not treated through manual intervention, e.g.: when this bug is affecting me and my workaround script is disabled, my laptop manages to drain its fully charged battery while being plugged-in & charging. Quickly deploying this hotfix, ideally for 25.10, would (presumably) help a lot of people - given the (heated) activity in the KDE bug report. ** Affects: qt6-base (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2121460 Title: cherry-pick request: Qt bugfix addressing issues with KDE+X11 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt6-base/+bug/2121460/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
