I figured out that the first (direct rendering) test reveals a count of 2 instead of 3 and thus fails, but the indirect test fails for another reason. When I run
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 glxinfo the output is as follows. name of display: :0.0 X Error of failed request: GLXBadContext Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent) Serial number of failed request: 16 Current serial number in output stream: 16 ** Description changed: I am running hardy alpha3 on a Dell inspriron 1501 laptop that has a radeon Xpress 1150 graphics card [RS485]. Now that the fglrx driver supports compositing I installed it and tried to enable visual effects, which failed. It turns out that it cannot find the 'GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap' in 'glxinfo ' in the 'GLX extensions' section (it is there in server and client glx extensions). - When using the 'radeon' driver GLX_EXT_texture_from _pixmap is found - but then I get another error (opening another report since it concerns - another package) - I guess it should be capable of doing visual effects, so I am reporting this as a bug (if someone knows otherwise, please let me know) Harry -- [fglrx] no Visual Effects on a Radeon Xpress 1150 (Dell inspiron 1501, hardy alpha 3) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182309 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
