thanks for coming back to me!

I cannot answer the question if a previous kernel version worked, that's 
outside my level knowledge. I own the device since a few weeks...
I know that the DELL Bios is pretty consistent, BIOS features like, 
what's needed in this case, are working with almost any similar DELL 
computer.

It took me a while to nail the problem down to this bug, basically 
anything that's needed to make an IPU3 work, once the quirk is 
available, was tested and working fine. This is what i meant with "All 
tests are positive...".
